The Gateway IP address for the default route, 0.0.0.0, should be the IP address of the Default Gateway/router for your current network.
Open a Command Prompt, with admin rights, then type the following command, then press the Enter key:
route print
If the Gateway IP address for the default route, 0.0.0.0, has the wrong IP address for your current network or says “On-link,” then you will not have Internet access, because the proper default gateway/router isn’t known by the PC.

route delete 0.0.0.0
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
If your system gets an invalid default route again, then there may be some contention for the network resources on startup with the Bonjour Service.
Cause:
- If the Bonjour Service starts before the NIC retrieves DHCP settings, the default gateway 0.0.0.0 is added.
Fix:
- For the Bonjour Service, change “Startup type:” From “Automatic” to “Automatic (Delayed Start)”
- If you don’t see “Bonjour Service” it may be listed as ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##
