Add Telnet to Windows 7

With Windows Vista and Windows 7, Telnet is not installed by default. To enable Telnet, do the following:

  1. Go to: Start > Control Panel > Programs
  2. Under “Programs And Features” select “Turn Windows features on or off”
  3. Tick “Telnet Client”
  4. Click the OK button

To start Telnet for with first time, open a Command Prompt and then type telnet.

After that, you can press the Windows key and type telnet in the search field.
