Errol Anglin—known to many as Junior or Gringo—was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of
everyone he met. Born on March 8, 1971, with deep roots in Jamaica, Errol was a beloved son to both his mother and his late father, a proud father to four boys, a cherished brother to eight siblings, a loving uncle, and a cousin and friend to many. He spent his life between America and Jamaica, where his love for music and entertainment made him an unforgettable DJ.

His passion for the Rastafari faith shaped his outlook on life, and he always found ways to bring joy and positivity to those around him. Errol believed that “Jah guides and protects” and lived his life as a proud member of Jah’s army.

Please help to cover the costs of transporting Errol to Jamaica and arranging the memorial services.

Photographer Kwame Brathwaite, who used his art as activism, captured the joy of Black American life, documenting jazz musicians, celebrities, everyday Harlem scenes, and more—while popularizing the phrase “Black is Beautiful,” amplifying the movement that redefined Black pride. The Grandassa Models were a pioneering group established in 1962 by Kwame Brathwaite and the African Jazz Art Society and Studio (AJASS). This group of non-professional models redefined beauty and inspired self-love and pride within the Black community during the 1960s and 1970s.
