Overview

For the projects listed here, I’ve done the following:

• A full systems analysis to determine the needs of the users, stake holders, and scope of the projects.
• Designed the client/server relational databases
• Created the user interfaces, forms, reports, etc.
• Written all the code and SQL queries.

Note:

• The Office of Adult and Continuing Education (OACE) is a division of the NYC Department of Education and serves over 40,000 students each year.

OACE Class Directory

• Used to document the over 800 classes, city-wide, given by OACE.
  
• Lists all classes, with their days, times, locations, and assigned teachers.
• For teachers, lists their full-time and part-time assignments.
• Used in conjunction with ASISTS (Adult Student Information System & Technical Support) for tracking student information.
  
• Used as "the" tool for assigning teachers for each new school year.
• This application is a client/server database system, with multiple concurrent users

OACE GED Testing

• Used to schedule the thousands of people taking the Official Practice Tests (OPT) and GED tests
• Generate the data source for mail-merge notification letters and mailing labels that are sent to test takers to inform them of when they're scheduled for testing.
• Generate the official GED Examiner's Attendance Sheet for a specific GED test that is submitted to the State:
  • Names are alphabetized as required, and counts of each test language, plus totals are automatically calculated and included.
• Tracks the OPT and GED tests taken, with scores, for each person
• This application is a client/server database system, with several concurrent users, and is currently hosted on a Terminal Server which allows access from different locations via the Internet.
