The ratchet used with the socket to change a tire requires lubrication.
The spring/locking mechanism inside the ratchet can get rusty or dirty causing it to not move and not lock the gear. This can cause the gear/socket to spin, making the ratchet useless.
I recommend that you spray a liberal amount of WD-40 into the ratchet mechanism to clean it out, then lubricate it with some light weight oil and then put the head of the ratchet into a plastic bag to keep moisture and dirt out of the mechanism. This should keep it working for when you need it.
When was the last time you checked your ratchet?

You'll need a 7/32" size socket to remove the two bolts that hold the ignition module in.
The Ignition Module tends to fail over time because of heat from the engine.
